Democracy's Laboratory: Are Science and Politics Interrelated?

Well Michael Shermer thinks so!  In the September 2010 issue of Scientific American Magazine, Mr. Shermer explores this relationship by comparing "democratic elections to scientific experiments."

So is Calgary falling victim to the scientific experiment?  Are we being fooled or tricked by the "alteration of a few variables here and there?"  Or is Make it Good the variable that will change the results?

Make It Good cares about resilient and sustainable communities. On September 22, Make It Good is taking a healthy stride in the direction of sustainable politics and we want you to come with us. We will start by shifting the focus away from the usual ugly collisions that take place at the intersection of rhetoric, cynicism, denial, and apathy and will attempt to move politics over to the free-flowing intersection where the best before dates of particular issues and the well-honed planks of vote-gathering platforms are discarded in favour of direct dialogue on the nature of our democracy, the way people think and the way they make decisions.

Join Make it Good on September 22, 2010 for "My vote could have changed that" where Mr. Shermer himself will help set the stage for, what we hope, will be the most exciting dialogue of the Mayoral campaign.
